Adams County Prohibited Items for Entry into County Buildings
To speed up the checkpoint process, please, leave all weapons, cell phones, food, drink and other unnecessary items at home or in your vehicle.
Prohibited Items
- Listed below are items that members of the public are prohibited from possessing, while on County property:
- Any firearm not adhering to 18 Pa. C.S. 6106(b) and 6109
- Any loose ammunition
- Any offensive weapon as defined by 18 Pa. C.S.A. 908 (c)
- Any weapon or instrument of crime as defined by 18 Pa. C.S.A. 907
- All knives or sharpened blades of any length
- Explosive devices (including firecrackers, supplies, detonating devices, fuses, or related equipment)
- Replicas of any of the items defined above. For example: blank pistols, toy guns, training knives, etc.
The activation, operation, or use of all electronic devices capable of capturing, recording, transmitting, or broadcasting photos, video, motion picture, or audio are prohibited Per Rule of Judicial Administration 140
Cell phone use is strictly prohibited in the courtrooms
Cell phone camera and video is strictly prohibited in the courthouse (unless prior approval is granted by Court Administration)
The Director of the Security Department or his designee, in their professional judgment, may prohibit any object, instrument, item, or device that has been determined to create a present danger to property, personnel, or visitors to County property.
Items which may be legal to possess, but are not permitted within county buildings, can be removed and will be stored at the security checkpoint for return to you upon your departure.
You must remember to retrieve any item(s) left at the Security Desk upon your departure. All items will be disposed of after 30 days.
