The Adams County Department of Weights & Measures strives to protect the public in commercial weighing and measuring practices, to achieve fair competition among businesses, and to facilitate trade between the states. This is accomplished by, Inspecting and testing at facilities that sell by weight, measure, and/or count. Assuring that the devices used, and the method of sale followed are correct, accurate, and legal. Eliminating from use those devices that are incorrect and/or inaccurate, and those methods of sale that are not legal. Responding to consumer complaints.
